the Windstar Bolt-On Kit...
The
96-98 Ford Windstar's came with a much more efficient plastic
composite upper intake manifold. This kit includes everything you
need to adapt the Windstar intake to your 3.8 Mustang.
Gains of over 7HP and
15FT/LBS! With other mods your gains can be even greater. Compare the power numbers from the
96-98 Windstar to the 99-04 Mustangs which share the same engine.

NEW! Improved Throttle Body Design
In order to limit the throttle arm deflection and improve
throttle response I've come up with a new design that braces the
throttle body extension arm with a brass bushing. This vastly
improves rigidity and even throttle response. Now standard on all

65mm Throttle Body Upgrade & Porting!
I've just started modifying the 65mm GT throttle body for use with
the Windstar kit as a more affordable alternative to the $200+
aftermarket 65mm throttle bodies. These TB's are modified using an
updated jig to maintain perfect TB geometry. Due to the GT TB cable
style, this is only available for the 01-04 Mustangs. 99-00 would
need to swap throttle cables to the newer 01-04 cable.
Ok, But How Does it Work?
Why will this intake give you more torque and horsepower? Well, its
all about optimizing the intake runner length. Looking at a side by
side view of the stock intake vs the Windstar you can see that the
Windstar has much longer runners. (read this article to see
why runner length affects power output) This is the same
principle that allows intake spacers to work.
The Windstar acts similar to an intake
spacer, giving you more power by increasing the runner length.
Longer runners give low end torque and shorter runners give more
high RPM torque. (this is why Ford has a split-port intake with two
runners per cylinder) The limitation with intake spacers is they can
only lengthen the runners so much before the short runners become too
long and you start to loose high RPM power. As you can see
in the side by side picture; the Windstar has much longer "long" runners while
keeping the "short" runners short. This allows you to gain
low RPM torque as well as high RPM power. Combine that with the
better flow and the heat resistant composite and you get a wide range of
power gain!

TB Modification
